Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking an RF Payload Chief Systems Engineer to deliver full life-cycle systems design, development, integration, test, operations, and engineering services to meet the mission needs of our customers. This role will experience the full suite of the system lifecycle and provide technical leadership and expertise to the multi-functional engineering team across this domain. Additionally, this role will provide direct technical leadership to the program they support. Chief Systems Engineers are seasoned experts in the discipline and have multi-faceted technical experience. They will be directly responsible for work products supporting customer missions and programs
Essential Functions:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- MMIC and module development and design experience
- RF Payload modelling, analysis, and design experience
- Experience with space hardware and testing
- Experience with requirements management software such as DOORS
- Familiarity with RF modelling and analysis tools and processes including Keysight tool suite (ADS, etc.), ANSYS, GRASP, HFSS, or similar analysis tools
- Direct experience leading technical teams
- Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system
- Provides systems engineering expertise and technical leadership in a broad field of engineering, research, design, and development for highly complex systems
- Applies systems engineering standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques
- Experience developing, managing, and verifying requirements for components or systems
- Evaluates customer and /operational needs to help define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces
- Leads and coordinates various analyses to optimize space system architecture
- Evaluate and mitigate risk within the program
- Execute design trades to support technical decisions

- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience, or
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Participate in and potentially lead business pursuit efforts
- Familiarity with MBSE tools and processes such as MagicDraw
- Experience with fixed-price programs with government customers
- Experience with space ground systems and space vehicle operation
- Experience with space vehicle design, integration, and test
