Position Summary

Works under the moderate supervision of the Clinical Engineering Supervisor. Performs the specific duties and general competencies required of the team and role for which s/he is assigned. Possess a broad level of knowledge and experience in most facets of the job and functions. Possesses an intermediate level of expertise and is capable of assisting less experienced technicians. Demonstrates ability to learn from others on the job. Can teach basic skills to Clinical Technician I team members. Optionally can mentor others in basic skills. Demonstrates sense of urgency and ownership, high degree of self-motivation, commitment, integrity, enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work. Is committed to providing excellent end user technology support and customer service to staff, physicians, business partners, and vendors. May perform other duties as assigned.

Position Details

  • Under moderate supervision, evaluates medical equipment issues and as assigned, implements repairs, rounds, performs Electrical Safety and Preventative Maintenance (PMs).
  • Assists other technicians on more complex assignments.
  • Flex time as required to meet department operational requirements
  • Maintains accurate and current records of medical equipment service, repairs and PMs.
  • Inspects incoming equipment for compliance with codes, standards and manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Resolve front-line customer service issues.
  • Maintain proper care of all tools and test equipment
  • Manage Vendor Service Delivery and PMs, as assigned
  • Attends and satisfactorily completes training and cross-trains other CE staff as appropriate.
  • Performs all Clinical Technician I functions at the Expert level

Qualifications & Experience

Education:
Nonessential:
  • Associate Degree

Education equivalent experience:
Nonessential:
  • Biomedical Degree or equivalent Military biomedical education (School House)



Other information:
Experience Essential:
  • 2+ years of Bio-Medical experience (or AS Degree)
  • Possesses understanding and skills related to general electro-mechanical systems and devices.
  • Can provide support of acuity equipment for direct patient care
  • Is familiar with the operations and environment that they support such as hospital, clinic, and so on.
  • Possesses understanding of common clinical terminology as well as that of life sciences such as anatomy and physiology
