FACILITY MANAGER
Location – Morristown, NJ 07960
Our client seeks a Facility Manager to oversee all aspects of the building and grounds. They troubleshoot, repair, and care for the premise. Managing all contractors and vendors needed to maintain the facility, grounds, and equipment. They also secure the facility and respond to facility equipment alarms and system failures.
Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Develop and implement a facility management program, including preventative maintenance and life cycle requirements.
- Plan and manage central services such as security, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and parking.
- Responsible for the security of the facility and responding to facility equipment alarms and system failures.
- Generate and present regular reports and reviews of facility-related budgets, finances, contracts, expenditures and purchases
- Advise on and monitor energy efficiency.
- Oversee environmental health, sanitation and safety.
- Provide recommendations for repair, maintenance, clean-up or hazards.
- Manage and review service contracts to ensure facility management needs are being met. Obtain quotes and tenders from vendors and suppliers. Calculate and compare costs for goods and services to maximize cost-effectiveness. Verify payment and invoicing match contract pricing.
- Oversee facility refurbishment and renovations.
- Coordinate equipment deliveries and proper installation.
- Maintain and repair light fixtures, commercial kitchen equipment, furniture, interior walls, ceiling tiles, carpeting, floor tiles and related items.
- Paint and patch interior walls and ceilings as needed.
- Supervise maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment performed by contractors.
- Coordinate the physical movement of furniture, equipment, boxes and materials, including supplies and stocking, as needed for freight shipping and delivery.
- Support the clean-up, maintenance, moving, set-up and repairs related to banquet events and dining.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial building and facility maintenance. Experience in restaurants, banquets or related facilities preferred.
- Working knowledge of commercial electrical and mechanical systems
- Working knowledge of commercial refrigeration
- Working knowledge of procurement and contracts
- Sound knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations
Essential Skills
- Able to understand and read printed material, drawings and schematics
- Able to read and understand information presented orally and in writing.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Able to use computers for processing work orders.
- Proficient in the use of Outlook e-mail.
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making
- Ability to prioritize work orders based on urgency.
- Physically able to stoop, stand, climb, and lift equipment weighing 50 pounds.
- Physically able to repeatedly crouch and reach throughout a business day to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine to facilitate work.

Salary: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
