Saint Mark Church, Northport, Alabama

Graphic Designer and Social Media

Purpose: To create relevant engagement through sermon logos, brochures, web graphics, powerpoint presentations and platform-specific content for Saint Mark Church that is helpful and sharable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Design sermon series logos for various series throughout the year

-Create original banners, signs and posters for various applications

-Design Powerpoint templates and layout presentations as needed

-Layout content (including some copy writing) in brochures and other printed mediums -Work with the website templates to create visually appealing focal points

-Design slides and images for advertising upcoming events at the church

-Manage our church’s Facebook, Instagram (and other social channels if necessary) to promote and inform

-Tell the story of our church on social media, creating “buzz” and sharable content -Basic management of our YouTube Channels to create cohesive messaging

-Other projects as assigned in the building of our digital presence strategy

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

-Creativity, artistic “eye”, proven ability in graphic design

-Strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics

-Excellent communication skills

-Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines

-Proficiency in software such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Powerpoint etc. -Basic proofreading skills

-Relevant to modern trends, marketing and understanding of what will connect with people in the Northport/Tuscaloosa area

BONUS: (additional hours could be provided for someone with any of the following:) -Proficiency in video editing/creation including software such as Premier, Final Cut Pro etc. -Web design

Part-time position (12-15 hours a week on average) reporting to the Associate Pastor

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
