Italy is Thales Group’s competence centre for tramway signalling solutions. The activity of SIX domain: mission critical solutions and applications for assets and citizens security (supervision, control and information management systems) as well as cybersecurity. Thales offers solutions to protect the information systems and critical data of its civilian and military customers and helps its customers to detect and prevent cyberattacks by devising secure architectures from the design stage, overseeing these architectures and ensures that they are kept in secure working order. Italy is Thales Group’s competence centre for Airport security and operations management solutions.

JOB OBJECTIVE

Design and implement complex information systems that support critical infrastructures for bids and projects

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for defining, designing and maintaining the IT solution architecture for Bids and Projects.

Defines and proposes for the solution or solution element candidate architectures allowing to meet stakeholders’ expectations in compliance with standardization and reuse policies, technology roadmap and business strategy.

Establishes the solution architecture through trade-offs between stakeholders’ expectations, technical & technological solutions and cost, risks and schedule, documents associated artefacts (e.g.Product Breakdown structure and Solution Design Document) and approves resulting lower level specifications (whether internal or external).

Contribute to the main bid/project engineering reviews and deliverables.

Contributes to the solution development cycle and co-engineering approach definition.

Leads along the project life cycle for the related level requirements’ allocation, management of performance assessment and critical parameters, and interface definition, and arbitrates technically between the various contributors (whether internal or external).

As an IT Infrastructure architect, he/she will be responsible for designing hardware and software and network systems architecture in compliance with customer requirements and stakeholders needs while achieving defined budget, time and quality constraints.

Moreover, in the role the IT infrastructure architect describes the missions, functions and requirements on the solution, formalizes the specification and the architectural design to develop the solution, prepares and performs the solution integration, verification and validation tests.

Furthermore, he/she identifies specific technical solutions in a new infrastructure or to be integrated in an existing one and define integration and migration plans. He/she supports the relevant specialist in the design for security data protection.

To ensure role’s success, he/she should have extensive experience defining and designing large-scale network and computer systems, the ability to perform cost evaluation as well as plan, schedule, monitor and control integration, verification and validation activities.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• A minimum of 5 years work experience with datacenter infrastructure, networking, virtualization, cloud environments
• Experience with Cybersecurity in complex network and datacenter environments is desired

QUALIFICATION & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering or Computer Sciences
• Technical certifications in datacenter, networking and virtualization environments desired
