NOW HIRING - Job Opening: Manual Lathe Operator

Become part of the dynamic Winton Machine team.

We are seeking to hire a qualified Manual Lathe Operator to process parts and components at our Suwanee Georgia headquarters. As a Manual Lathe Operator, you will be finishing parts for machine assembly in accordance with engineered CAD generated drawings. This is a detail-oriented job focused on precision and attention to details. You will work independently as part of a larger team with other lathe operators. This is a full time first shift position.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibilities are to operate and monitor lathe machines, performing machining operations such as turning, boring, threading and facing on various parts.
  • Use best practices to operate the lathe and provide the features and finish required of the CAD drawing.
  • Work under minimal direction and exercise good judgment.
  • Continuously learn and improve your skills.
  • Maintain personal and productivity goals, input productivity data in computer system as required.
  • Troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Maintain a clean workstation.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive team-oriented work environment.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 1-year previous manual lathe experience with trade school training.
  • Able to set up machines and correctly finish machined parts.
  • Experience working safely in a factory setting.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply basic shop math.
  • Ability to use and apply basic measuring tools, interpret CAD
  • Drawings and tolerances.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Knowledge and ability to use computers.
  • Close attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Able to follow written and oral instructions.

Additional Qualifications and Skills although not required for the position are a plus:

  • Ability to operate manual and CNC Lathes.
  • Associate degree from a technical school or college combined with 5 to 10 years of experience.
  • Able to program CNC Lathes AND Mills with G code controls, MasterCam and Mazatrol controls.
