Position Summary
As a Payroll Coordinator you will process the incoming time records from the various STERIS Employees, in an accurate and timely fashion. This role also assist with preparation of paychecks, ACH deposits and interfaces of payroll information to various STERIS location. You will assist with updates of human resources files with payroll information, assist with the proper set up and maintenance of employee records, and provide information relative to Employees' payroll records as required. The Payroll Coordinator also assists with the monthly, quarterly and year end of reporting to Employees, non-incorporated vendors and Federal Agencies.
Duties
- Timely processing of various records, including labor input from, Kronos and ETK (Electronic Timekeeping System), and MyTime.
- Responsible for coordinating and performing all aspects of payroll cycle processing activities performed on ADP Software for U.S. and Ceridian Software for Canadian payrolls, to include proper scheduling of salaried and hourly payrolls.
- Coordinates the funding to the bank for all Canadian payrolls through appropriate notification, processes wires for Canadian Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP).
- Continue to improve job performance through cross-training with other Employees in the payroll department, to increase understanding of whole department functions and to learn to execute new tasks and/or responsibilities and assist with Payroll Training.
- Provide basic payroll information as required to support management informational needs relative to individual Employees, departments, divisions and groups. This would include assisting with the preparation of information required for internal and external audits, including information required for Workmen's Compensation coverage renewals.
- Assist with the reconciliation of the amounts collected and deposited for the employee and employer portion of payroll taxes, (e.g.: Federal, FICA, State, City) to each payroll run, using standard payroll reports.
- Reconcile the amounts collected and deposited for voluntary deductions for additional benefits and/or pledges to each payroll run, using standard payroll reports.
- Assist with input of confidential employee information required to maintain an accurate Payroll/Personnel data base and Payroll Master File, including maintenance of 401k information for all participants
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and end of year payroll reports as required.
- Participate in the testing of processes on new computer systems relative to payroll processing and reporting.
- ADP and Oracle systems contain highly sensitive and confidential information which requires this position to maintain the ability to handle all information with professionalism and confidentiality.
Required Experience
- Associates Degree or 6 years equivalent experience required.
- 6 years payroll experience required without degree OR 2 years related experience with degree.
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting preferred.
- ADP, PCPW, ReportSmith or FPC certification preferred.
