Schedule: Monday - Friday during clinic operations. Services may be face-to-face or through telehealth.

Salary: $176,000 / year

Job Qualifications:

  • Advanced Nurse Practitioner credentials and must be eligible to prescribe as a psychiatric Nurse in Massachusetts required.
  • Must posses valid PMH-APRN credentials which are in good standing. Required credentials include PMHCNP, PMHNP, PMHCNS, PCNS.
  • At least five years of psychiatric nursing experience, three of which must have included prescribing medications to individuals with serious mental illness.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Master's degree in nursing preferred.
  • CPR required within two weeks of hire
  • Must be a least 21 years of age and have held a valid US driver's license for at least one year and should be able to pass a CORI, driving record, employment reference check as well as a multi-state background check.

The Prescribing Nurse provides psychiatric evaluations and medication management utilizing a team approach to individuals experiencing mental health, substance use or co-occurring disorders. The Prescribing Nurse is responsible for the initial assessment and medication management for individuals. As a member of an interdisciplinary outpatient team, the Prescribing Nurse will function as a medical educator and consultant in collaboration with other clinicians regarding health promotion and maintenance, medication administration and acute and chronic medical/psychiatric crisis management for clients. The right candidate will hold Advanced Nurse Practitioner credentials and be eligible to prescribe in Massachusetts and have experience working in a community mental health or similar clinic or health center setting.

About the model: Vinfen Behavioral Health Community Services provides adult and youth with onsite and community-based outpatient behavioral health therapy, mobile crisis services (MCI), crisis stabilization (CCS), and psychopharmacology including medication assisted treatments. Vinfen Behavioral Health Community Services are designed to support individuals and families in the community, reduce use of emergency rooms for behavioral health crisis, increase flexibility of service delivery, and provide seamless access to outpatient, urgent and crisis interventions, increased social supports and community-based staff.
