About the Role:
In this role, you will establish operational objectives and assignments, and delegates assignments to subordinate managers. Objectives are reviewed by senior management to determine success of the operation. You will be involved in developing, modifying, and executing company policies. You will regularly interact with senior managers on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers. This will require you to have ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of, others in sensitive situations. You will direct the operations of Private Bank to ensure achievement of short- and long-term goals and objectives to ensure sales and profit objectives are met. In addition, you will set production goals and ensures their achievement. You'll develop and manage incentive plans including ensuring accurate tracking and application of required modifiers to plan payouts. You'll direct and control the activities of the department having overall responsibility for planning, budgeting, implementing, and maintaining costs, methods, and associate performance management and coaching. Furthermore, you will stay informed of trends in wealth management, Private banking, and financial services industry in order to effectively anticipate the markets and opportunities.
- Manage, support, and guide Private Bank Advisors (PBA)s with the onboarding, development, and retention of accounts targeted to high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, professional services firms, and non-profit entities.
- Manage PBAs in the identification and evaluation of loan and deposit business opportunities, trust/fiduciary, and investment management opportunities, while ensuring the existence of proactive relationship plans and sales management practices that maximize the profit and client development potential of each office's local market.
- Identify, hire, motivate, and retain top talent.
- Promote and maintain efficient operations processes designed to achieve the highest levels of customer service quality.
- Coordinate marketing resources, treasury management services and other product and service providers within the company.
- Identify investment, trust, deposit, and loan products to maintain competitive edge in marketplace, ensuring compliance measures have been met.
- Develop and implement cross-selling strategies with organizations within Umpqua Holdings Corporation and other financial services vendors.
- Grant credit within approved guidelines while maintaining credit quality standards and achieving outstanding credit exams.

- Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations that apply to your position and keep up to date on regulation changes.
- Maintain working knowledge of our policies and procedures regarding the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security, and other regulations that apply to your position.
- May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.
About You:
- Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, business or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2-4 years of Private Banking lending, sales and services, and portfolio management experience, required.
- 7-10 years of specialized wealth management experience, such as in the fields of private client advisory, trust administration and investment management, required.
- FINRA Series 7, 65 or 66 and Life Insurance certifications.
- Previous supervisory or managerial experience. Open Minded, client centric, team player, consensus builder, proven ability to build partnerships in a banking environment, consultative selling in advisory role, and a successful track record in managed money sales.
- Ability to train and present to small and large audiences or has the interest in learning to train and present.
- Registered as a MLO in accordance to S.A.F.E. Act requirements.
- This position requires you to act as a Bank MLO, which is defined as an individual authorized by the Bank to take mortgage loan applications, offer a mortgage, arrange a mortgage, assist a consumer in obtaining or applying to obtain a mortgage, negotiate a mortgage, otherwise obtain or make a mortgage for another person, represent to the public (through advertising or other means of communication) that such person can or will perform any of these activities, or refer a consumer to a loan originator (Note: Except those employees of the Bank who do not discuss particular credit terms available and do not refer the consumer, based on the employee's assessment of the consumer's financial characteristics to a particular Bank MLO) for compensation or gain. All MLOs will be required to register as an MLO complying with the SAFE Act requirements.
- This position IS NOT authorized to act as a Bank Closed-End MLO, which is defined as any position designated to perform the activities of a Bank MLO for closed-end transactions, and thus subject to specific Truth-in-Lending Act and Regulation Z Loan Originator requirements.
Our Benefits:
We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $124,500.00 - $252,306.00 and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
