Purpose of the job:
Manage the technical contractual scope of the project ensuring its delivery according to the quality, cost, performance and scheduled commitment originally agreed and, if applicable, updated as a result of negotiated variation orders. Lead the Project Engineering teams under Project Manager’s coordination. Projects to be followed are related to: Rolling Stock systems, particurally traction drives, TCMS, firefighting, driverdesks, train communications network and service and maintenance.
Key Accountability:
- Manage the technical contractual scope of the project
- Validate the technical design choices with the peers and Solution Director
- Manage the project solution, including the customization and specific configuration of the generic solution to meet Quality, Cost, Delivery and Performance (QCDP) commitments
- Be accountable for Engineering WP QCD
- Functionally lead the project engineering team
- Manage the interface with the project core team (industrialisation, sourcing, installation, test and commissioning etc.)
- During project warranty, coordinate actions to support resolution of pending technical issues following Project Warranty Manager (PrWM) requirements
- Support PrQSM to consolidate the REX of the Project and the Reliability Growth
Performance measurements:
- Project QCDP (quality, cost, delivery and performance)
- Project Specification, including Design documents & Projects V&V documents approval status
- Project requirement database maturity (it covers “traceability & coverage of requirements by V&V”)
- Engineering management plan application
- Assessment results based on internal audits and process inspections (applied in the project)
Position Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree of Science in Engineering, Mechanical, Electric, Computer Science or scientific subjects
- Engineering background including project deployment full lifecycle view
- Hands-on experience on functional or hierarchical team management
- Cost and planning control experience in engineering scope
- Hands-on experience on Customer relationship in contractual situations
