About this role:
The Regional Director of Operations (DO) has four main areas of responsibility: personnel management, client management, clinical quality management and operations management for the jails in their region. The DO ensures the highest quality clinical care is delivered to the inmates entrusted to our care by allocating our healthcare funds to deliver the most appropriate care to the greatest number of inmates. The DO ensures we meet or exceed our commitments to all stakeholders: our employees, our clients, our board and each other. This is accomplished by providing guidance, direction and support to the HSAs, ensuring our clinical staff are trained and supported in the delivery of care, providing key performance information to our clients, acting as the conduit for the sharing of information between the field and the corporate office, and collaborating with all functions in the corporate office.

Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare or related field.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience:
- Five plus years of experience in healthcare operations management required, correctional health experience preferred.
- Multi-site management experience required.
Licenses/Certifications:
- None
Mentor, coach and support HSAs- Review clinical and operating metrics versus expectations
- Evaluate individual HSA performance and identify development opportunities
- Review and approve, with the HSA, his or her team member performance evaluations and identify professional development opportunities
- Liaison between HSAs and corporate office/executive team
- Collaborate with all corporate functions to ensure program success (HR, IT, Payroll, Finance, etc)
- Ensure that facilities under management achieve clinical, service, and operating objectives
- Provide regular written communications on key performance indicators, statistics, facility developments, and important developments
- Conduct regularly scheduled site visits, include discussion of any issues/concerns/opportunities.
- Monitor adherence to contract, P&Ps, rules and regulations for assigned counties
- Liaison with outside community medical and behavioral health partners to ensure program success
- Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with Sheriff’s staff, custody staff and medical staff
- Identify and share best practices with jail staff
- Comply with contract reporting requirements
- Works with business development team on annual contract renewals
- Attend quarterly Quality Assurance meetings
- Coordinate and schedule QA meetings with PMs and other DOs
- Review P&P after PMs/HSAs make changes, submit to COO and/or CMO for final approval
- Participate in weekly CMO call
- Assist with accreditation/compliance process
- Provide training/standardized in-services and on-boarding for staff as needed
- Engage in proactive and on-going performance management
- Oversee work with drug formulary compliance by working in collaboration with clinical leadership
- Manage off-site referral process through collaborating with CMO and UM/RN as well as using tools like AristaMD
- Monitor compliance to staffing plans, manage changes to staffing plans with input from HSA, Finance, COO.
- Document approved changes to staffing plans and ensure all approvals are received
- Authorize equipment purchases and communicate needs to corporate office
- Manage key operating metrics: including staffing/schedules/payroll, labor, supply, pharmacy, staff retention
- Participate in development of annual operating plan
