What you will learn and contribute to
RF Engineering comprises the specification, design, and implementation of radio frequency analogue hardware. This covers small signal Radio Frequency (RF), power amplifiers, and RF filter parts of the radio products as well as sub module level verification and product unit level specification and integration.
The RF maintenance Engineer conducts target-oriented research to directly apply findings to the further development and incremental improvement of products, services, systems, tools, processes, etc. The RF maintenance engineer integrates, verifies, tests, and modifies hardware components and capitalises on innovative solutions to solve difficult problems in production and field environments. Technologies supported by RF maintenance team include 2G/3G/4G/5G radio products across a wide range of commercially available RF spectrum.
RF Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for RF related tasks needed to maintain radio products in collaboration with product maintenance engineering in the Americas region and globally. Work will include small scale design, test, and verification required for part change notifications / obsolete parts / 2nd sources, production line support, support for product transfers between factories and repair centers, and analyzing field return units from external and internal customers.
Your skills and experience
RF maintenance engineer must have good knowledge of RF theory, understand RF-related telecommunications, and have ability to learn through hands-on experience working with radio frequency RF circuitry. The candidate must possess good interpersonal skills and have strong drive to focus on completing challenging tasks in a dynamic work environment. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with specialty in RF technology is a must, with master's degree preferred. Candidate must be willing to travel and speak fluent English. This entry level position will include laboratory work in the Nokia Dallas lab and travel to other locations as needed.
