Generali is a major player in the global insurance industry – a strategic and highly important sector for the growth, development and welfare of modern societies.

Within the Group Risk Appetite Framework area we are looking for a Risk Analyst. The Risk Appetite Framework (RAF) team is part of the Enterprise Risk Management team which reports directly to the Group CRO. Its main mission is to ensure the definition of Group risk strategy, risk appetite, risk limits and the implementation in Generali local entities, and to monitor and report the risk appetite framework at Group and local level. Moreover, the RAF team supports Group CFO function in the Capital Management Process and Group CRO in the M&A activities.

As part of this mission, the RAF team:

  • Is responsible for setting the methodological framework of the risk appetite

  • Is supporting the local entities in implementing the risk appetite framework

  • Is monitoring on a regular basis the adherence of the Group and entities to the capital metrics risk limits

  • Is supporting Group CRO in the risk assessment of M&A activities


In order to strengthen its Risk Appetite Framework capabilities, the RAF team is looking for a Risk Analyst which main missions will be:

  • To support the maintenance and further development of the Risk Appetite methodological framework

  • To perform quantitative and qualitative (macro-economic) analyses in support of capital metrics risk monitoring activities

  • To support the risk assessment of M&A activities

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • To monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) reported at both local and Group level

  • To maintain and further develop reporting templates and automate their productions

  • To provide technical support to the risk assessment of M&A activities, via business plan / valuation model analysis and sensitivity impact evaluation

  • To support the production of regular and ad-hoc reports, targeting Group Board of Directors and its supporting Group Committees

Our ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

Must have

  • Up to 5 years of experience in risk management, actuarial or ALM function
  • Have a Master Degree in mathematics, actuarial, finance or alike disciplines with a strong quantitative focus
  • Good understanding of Solvency II regulation and Economic Capital
  • Advanced knowledge of standard softwares (Excel incl. VBA, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Be fluent in English both in writing and in speaking

  • Master another language

Soft skills

  • Communication skills are essential for this role which is interfacing several functions
  • Good attitude to critical thinking is needed in order to be able to analyse topics from different perspectives, get and summarise the full picture
  • Ability to carry out tasks independently in non-standardized work situations is of crucial importance for this role
