Amentum is now hiring a SATCOM Test Engineer Technician with experience providing primarily IT related technical support focused on testing and troubleshooting requirements. You are capable of assisting the engineering team for a Army tactical satellite program of record with a wide variety of technical support needs. This position will be filled at an Army program office located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

Hybrid telework opportunities are available for those in the area.

You are knowledgeable in the testing and troubleshooting of commercial network equipment utilized by Army tactical programs and activities. You have a strong understanding of areas such as Microsoft Windows Software & Architecture, virtualized environments (VMWare ESXi/Microsoft Hyper-V), Cisco Networking Equipment/Architecture (Routers, switches, firewalls), Palo Alto Firewalls and Voice Over IP hardware and software architectures. You're a strong problem solver and have highly developed analytical skills. You are someone who is excited about working in a fast paced test environment where you successfully multi-task and prioritize efforts to work in an efficient manner. You are a self starter who is capable of working well independently or as part of a team to accomplish a mission.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in generation of specifications, engineering and related documentation as required
• Assist with the development and conduct of equipment testing
• Provide technical troubleshooting support for help desk requests for fielded systems as required
• Develop, review & gain concurrence from team members on test plans & reports
• Review, analyze & generate test reports based on conducted testing
• Document and manage defect identification through resolution and closure
• Provide technical support to other engineering groups as required
• Generate automated test scripts

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelors degree and at least 5 years of experience as a SATCOM Test Engineer Technician or related fieldOr High school diploma/GED and at least 9 years of overall work experience of which 5 years or more must be SATCOM Test Engineer Technician experience or related field.

• Able and willing to travel up to 25% based on mission needs.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in a technical field or related sciences
• Experience or familiarity with DoD Acquisition programs
• Experience or familiar with the following:Microsoft Windows Software & Architecture

Knowledge of virtualized environments & architectures (VMWare ESXi/Microsoft Hyper-V)
Cisco Networking Equipment/Architecture (Routers, switches, firewalls)
Palo Alto Firewalls
Voice Over IP hardware and software architecture
Develop, review & gain concurrence from team members on test plans & reports
Linux Software & Architecture
