Security Officer
Job description
- Uses approved restraining techniques (i.e. Mandt, Non-lethal Force Policy) in situations of active patients.
- Will not leave the confines of the hospital/administration complex during their tour of duty without being properly relieved. Will ensure by routine security rounds, that the facility is adequately locked and/or secured during pre-designated hours.
- Security officers will carry handcuffs, handheld radio, and a flashlight. (The Government requires the use of Class II Guard (without Firearms). Firearms are not permitted in the hospital complex.)
- Will screen all persons entering and leaving the hospital building during pre-designated hours.
- Provides assistance to staff and/or police with emergency room and/or inpatient as the situation warrants. In the absence of a doctor or nurse, patient will be attended at all times while in the emergency room and/or inpatient as situation warrants.
- Will escort and assist patients and staff to their vehicles as appropriate and boarders to their assigned quarters.
- Will transport patients to and from the airport.
- Shall respond to all calls for security services throughout the hospital complex including but not be limited to the following:
- Disruption, or altercations, within the hospital complex.
- Reported theft within the building.
- Report of accident, serious injury or death within the complex.
- Report of fire, safety or security hazards within the complex.
- Will send a copy of the daily security log of the preceding day's recorded activities to the Chief Security Officer. Shall immediately report to the Chief Security Officer on situations beyond their normal routine activities.
- Will at times of major crisis, function wherever designated by personnel in charge.
- Participate in the current Fire and Disaster Plan as found in the current fire and disaster manual.
(Removes ice and snow after hours and weekends from entrances, patient watch, patient transports, Deliver medical/oxygen supply to Inpatient and dietary supply after hours, answers phones in inpatient, fuel vehicles, morgue duties, light animal control, tdy boarder check in and out, vehicle and compound key control).
