Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Structural Engineer to join the Command and Launch Team (CLT). This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program.
What You’ll Get To Do:
The selected candidate will be responsible for executing linear and nonlinear analysis scope using ABAQUS and ANSYS. Responsibilities will include executing analysis efforts to support Launch Equipment Missile Support System design. This includes finite element analysis, weld analysis and bolt joint analysis. In addition, the candidate will be supporting test objective development for model validation and qualification. Candidate will generate analysis documentation artifacts and prepare CDRL for customer deliveries.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. Relocation assistance may be available.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 9 years of experience; 7 years with Master’s Degree; 4 years with PhD
- Experience Dassault Systems, ABAQUS and/or ANSYS.
- Experience performing post-processing of analysis results using MATLAB and EXCEL
- US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with ABAQUS, LS-DYNA, and ANSYS
- Proficient technical writer with ability to verbally communicate technical content
Active Secret clearance
Experience with nonlinear shock analysis and seismic analysis
Exposure to structural test applications
Exposure to missile program requirements and propulsion systems.
