Under general supervision, this position will proactively provide first level support of electrical/electronic vehicle test devices for the Assembly shop at all tester related areas including online, offline, repair and retrofit locations.
The role will also perform maintenance of all online and offline computer-based and electronic test devices, small test devices and related accessories and fixtures.
Additionally, this role will perform scheduled rollouts of test software packages, monitor for and investigate any issues related to the rollout, and direct any problems found to the relevant parties (Programmers, VTs, Production, etc.) for further investigation and resolution.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Image and deploy new and repaired test devices with the required operating systems, test programs, and test program releases.
- Ensure test devices contain the required software, including operating systems, test programs, and device-specific drivers to meet operations readiness standards.
- Maintain required levels of operational test devices in all production testing areas as required.
- Communicate and coordinate with teams and colleagues in other plants around the world to solve complex technical issues.
- Develop and conduct preventative maintenance on numerous production-critical PCs and electronic devices.
- Manage inventory of numerous types of production equipment, including fault analysis and resolution.
- Coordinate disposal of old equipment.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new equipment.
- Roll out new software packages according to the release schedule defined by MOE programmers.
- Monitor all test locations for issues on an ongoing basis.
- Perform first-level investigation of any test-related issues using all available tools (IS-Moca, MRS, Trace files, etc.) and direct the issues to the relevant group for further investigation or resolution (Programmers, VTs, Production, etc.)
- Maintain a clean and organized working environment at all times.
- Follow Standard Methods and Procedures for repetitive duties.
- Perform safe work practices and participate in trainings and safety programs in a positive and proactive way by following safety rules, procedures, regulations, standards and laws. Report all unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and injuries to a supervisor or Human Resources.
- Work safely 100% of the time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The minimum level of education:
- Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering/Computer Science, Information Technology (Or related area or the equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum of 2 years working with or maintaining computer-controlled equipment or test devices and accessories.
- Reading electrical schematics.
- Use of oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and ohmmeters for electrical diagnostics.
- Troubleshooting AC/DC power supplies.
- Use of hand and/or power tools.
- Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
- Wireless and wired networking standards and troubleshooting.
- Basic understanding of the function and interoperability of various vehicle systems (Electrical, Telematics, Drivetrain, Safety, etc.).
- Use of proprietary diagnostic test devices to troubleshoot production-critical equipment.
- Experience managing or deploying devices in a managed environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially regarding technical information.
- Ability to prioritize many tasks based on production and management demands.
- Valid Driver's License.

- Experience working in automotive manufacturing maintenance or electrical testing environment.
- Experience designing or constructing industrial PC racks and cabinets.
- Experience imaging and deploying PCs using SCCM and WinPE tools.
- Prior knowledge of C++, Powershell, or other programming/scripting languages.
