Role Summary:
Lead and manage part of the site supply chain team for specific commodities (castings, forgings, fabrications, machined parts, commercial parts, electrical components, outsource processes, etc) to deliver the site operational objectives and provide outstanding supply chain service levels on quality and delivery whilst achieving lowest total cost of acquisition for each commodity.
Drive deployment of supply chain processes and resource development while adhering to company policies and Procedures for his/her commodity.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Manage the buyers team who are responsible for acting on order requisitions (or other input) and exception messages generated by MRP system.
- In collaboration with the Supply Chain manager, with Global Supplier Performance Group and with Category managers, manage supplier performances (cost saving, on-time delivery and quality) for the specific deliveries/suppliers of this commodity.
- Track, improve and develop site supply chain KPIs vs those defined by Platform Supply Chain Director/Global Supply Chain for the specific commodity.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives aligned with Company strategies to meet annual operating plan (AOP) and long-term business objectives.
- Support site PWC objectives by leveraging inventory management opportunities and days payable outstanding (DPO).
- In coordination with the respective teams within the Global Supply Chain, ensure utilization of strategic tools and processes to achieve objectives of improved on-time delivery and quality, and reduced lead times and total cost of acquisition:
- ERP system
- APQP/ PPAP
- Procurement Control plans
- On time delivery
- Top Focus supplier improvement
- Manufacturing Process Review
- Supplier audits/assessments
- Capacity & constraint management
- Supplier Quality Manual
- Facilitate and oversee critical delivery or quality issues between Operations, Engineering, Customers and Suppliers as required.
- Support and lead NCR, CAR, and capacity/lead-time improvement initiatives for managed suppliers (and coordinate with the Supplier Performance Group for centrally managed suppliers).
- Work with platform and GSC cross-functional teams to support & drive sourcing initiatives to reduce costs, rationalize supply base and leverage new technologies.
- Work with Project Management function to guarantee the achievement of each project targets (delivery, price, quality).
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- 5+ years Supply Chain / Commodity Management experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business (Supply Chain Management or International major) preferred
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Must have high competencies of ETO purchasing activities including management of project documentation in terms of LT, scheduling, quantity and priorities.
- Must possess solid analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Ability to work in a matrix organization with good influencing and effective listening skills.
