Responsibilities:

• Analyze and develop requisite understanding of Walker test machines, associated apparatus, vehicle part types, and testing methodology with guidance of Research & Development and Engineering staff.
• Create quality documentation in the form of user guides, developer guides, in-platform instructions, installation/configuration instructions and theory of system operation for Walker test platforms.
• Review preexisting documentation for quality, accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Amend as necessary.
• Research, write, edit, and revise content to be accessible for all applicable users.
  • Accommodated range of technical backgrounds may vary by project.
• Collaborate with Research & Development, Engineering, Quality Control, Product Management, Marketing, Machine Shop, and more to determine appropriate scope and character of projects.
• Store all work in accordance with defined information organizational strategies.
• Establish goal-oriented timeline and report progress to stakeholders in a timely manner as determined by Manager.

Requirements:

• One or more years of approved formal training/experience in a relevant field of study including but not limited to Technical Writing, English, Journalism, and/or Scientific Publication.
• At least one semester of successful experience in Technical Writing.
• A healthy interest, curiosity, and thirst for knowledge/experience in the technical writing field.
• Strong communication skills including written, verbal, and presentation.
• Ability to break down, comprehend, and express technical topics to stakeholders of varying technical backgrounds to their degree of need and understanding.
• Experience and/or willingness to learn proper documentation formats and tools for tasks.
• Observance and attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Microsoft Office proficiency, especially Word and Excel.

• Self-motivated work ethic: Works well independently with appropriate prompts and guidance.
