Harrison Western was founded in 1968 and has provided superior design and construction services to the mining and civil industries for over 50 years. We have entered a Joint Venture with Shaft Sinkers to construct a new utility shaft at WIPP (Waste Isolation Pilot Plant). WIPP is a Department of Energy facility located near Carlsbad, New Mexico. When the project is completed, the final shaft will measure 26 feet in diameter and extend to 2,275 feet below the surface.

We are looking for experienced Top Landers to join the team.

The WIPP project is expected to take up to three years to complete. Open positions will be based on the operational need and may be months to years in duration. All positions are located at the WIPP site, 26 miles southeast of Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Rigging of materials lowered into the shaft
• Operation of collar doors
• Dumping of buckets
• Filling of concrete buckets
• Set up of each phase of the shaft sinking operation

Skills and Specifications:

• Ability to take direction from supervision
• Recognize hazards and safety risks
• Familiar with equipment and tools required for the position
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Work in a standing, seated, or other physical positions
• ATF Clearance
• Shaft Sinking experience preferred
