Avio Aero is reinforcing the focus to excellence in aeronautical Mechanical Transmissions for Turboprop applications.In this spirit, we are looking for a talented engineer, expected to perform design activities related to Power Gearbox and Accessory Gearbox bearings development.
The Turboprop Bearings Design Engineer, reporting to the Turboprop GBX Design Manager utilizes expertise to develop and execute objectives for self and others, solve problems and have the ability to affect short-term and some long-term business goals.
The position is within the Turboprop Engineering Section dealing with the New Product Introduction process from concept design to product detailed definition, certification and initial production support for NPI programs; in particular: EuroDrone Airbus application, Catalyst engine for Textron Denali application, H80 Engine Series, new upcoming applications
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Strengthen technical knowledge on bearings design for aeronautical gearbox
Apply system requirements to components definition
Contribute to identify and develop design solutions scoring them and down-selecting the optimal one to achieve product performance/cost/weight
Perform design and analysis activities on the component (with in house software)
Issue technical documents relative to the components design according to engineering policies and procedures (drawings, presentations as well as analysis reports)
Contribute and participate as a presenter in technical and program reviews
Support source technological substantiation and non-conformances assessments (MRB)
Proactively support and coordinate activities with Manufacturing/Sourcing/Quality and Suppliers to implement product improvements (e.g. concurrent design, cost-out activities)
Support activities related to development findings, components performance and investigations (e.g. test requests and data postprocess, laboratories investigation)
Qualifications/Requirements
Master Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university
Knowledge of Gearbox Design principles
Experience with CAD tools (e.g. Unigraphics NX) and ability to adapt to in-house analysis tools
Knowledge of manufacturing processes for bearings components
Good interpersonal and communication skills
English and Italian language knowledge, both written and oral
Clear thinking, diligent approach, target oriented
Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required
