Job Description Summary
The Systems Programmer / Developer III will be reporting to the Data Coordination Unit (DCU) within the Public Health Sciences (PHS) department. The DCU is looking for a computer programmer who can work with the Unit’s Information Systems team to develop and maintain the Unit’s clinical trials management system referred to as WebDCU™. This includes participating in web-based information management application validation and documentation, working with the study teams (clients) to ensure users’ needs are met, and assisting in the development, maintenance and upgrade of the Unit’s clinical trials management software. This WebDCU™ system supports all project and data management activities of the clinical trials managed by the DCU.Entity

Payscale Salary Range:
UNIV-Band 7: $49,594.00 - $70,674.00 - $91,755.00 (min - mid - max)
Job Duties:
25% - Performs independent research, design and implementation of an upgraded version of the WebDCU web application using the.NET framework. Evaluates the available implementation models within .NET to determine which will best fit the WebDCU system’s needs. - (Essential)
25% - Works with management to develop the requirements for the new system. Documents all implemented software using the standards defined by the DCU IS section. - (Essential)
25% - Leads the planning, design and implementation of individual clinical trials within the WebDCU system. Works with the entire clinical trial study team to setup the trial requirements using the standards defined by the DCU IS section. Provides ongoing support and maintenance throughout the life of the trial. - (Essential)
25% - Collaborates with management to determine the software requirements and specifications for the existing WebDCU web application. Implements the assigned requirements within the expected time frame specified. Analyzes and tests the new software prior to completion. - (Essential)
MUSC Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and four years work experience in the modification and maintenance of system programs, the design and development of system software, or the testing and debugging of system software. An associate's degree or a bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience.
