- Core work hours: Full Time (40 Hours); Day Shift; Monday – Friday, 08:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Position Summary
The BH Administrator has full operational responsibility for BH Operations at their assigned entity. This includes oversight of the clinical team (therapists and recreational therapists), nursing services (nurses and MHTs), and ancillary support staff (department assistants, etc.). The BH Administrator collaborates with the facility psychiatric medical director, staff psychiatry providers and internal medicine, system-level BH departments, and entity stakeholders to ensure high quality, safe care of individuals with a substance use disorder receiving services provided by the Texas Health Behavioral Health service line.
Job Duties
Responsible for the management of the hospital, organization of personnel and others concerned with the operation of the hospital. This includes oversight of entity staff including, but not limited to, clinical psychologists, social workers, licensed professional counselors, licensed chemical dependency counselors, recreational therapists, registered nurses, recovery specialists, advanced practice providers, and ancillary staff such as department assistants and administrative assistants.
Organize the administration functions of the hospital, delegate duties and establish formal means of accountability on the part of subordinates.
Establish such departments as needed, provide for department and inter-departmental meetings and attend or be represented at such meetings and insure such departments have effective leadership.
Assure the application and implementation of established policies in the operation of the hospital. Review and advise in the preparation of annual budget's showing the hospital's expected receipts and expenditures.
Select, employ, establish beginning salaries and grant salary increases based on the Board approved annual budget, control and discharge of all employees except that the selection, employment, control and discharge of employees may be, by consent of the Administrator, delegated to the head of the various departments.
Cooperates with the Medical Staff and to secure like cooperation on the part of all those concerned with the rendering of professional service to the end that the best possible care may be rendered to all patients.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education
Master's Degree Behavioral health field Required
Or
Master's Degree Psychiatric Nursing Required
Experience
5 Years behavioral health leadership Required
Licenses and Certifications
LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor Upon Hire Required
Or
LMFT - Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Upon Hire Required
Or
LCSW - Licensed Clinical Social Worker Upon Hire Required
Or
Psychologist Upon Hire Required
Or
RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
And
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training with in 30 Days Required
And
AHAFA - American Heart Association First Aid Certification must be maintained with in 90 Days Required
Skills
The Administrator must be a sound leader who possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster cooperation across departmental lines and manage information, environmental and fiscal resources to accomplish goals.
The Administrator must be able to maintain and demonstrate a broad knowledge of tasks and assets necessary to accomplish the company objectives. Must have knowledge about needs and requirements of third party payers and the ability to be culturally sensitive to diverse groupings of employees and consumers of services as well as maintain knowledge.
Must be continually be up-to-date on State, Federal regulations; The Joint Commission
