Mid Michigan Medical Billing Service is looking for a Medical Billing Specialist to join our rapidly growing team. Candidate duties include all aspects of medical billing and coding.

Responsibilities

- Focus on complete end-to-end billing for the accounts allocated. Functions include; Charge review, Payment posting, Front end Edits, Payer Rejects, Denials and Account Receivables

- Interpret and process Explanation of Benefits.

- Responsible for in-depth research of claims and appeal denied claims.

- Resubmit corrected claims to maximize reimbursements.

- Monitor Accounts Receivable closely and pursuing all outstanding balances

- Follow set billing processes and procedures

- Access carrier websites for claim and eligibility information.

- Bill patients for responsible portions and have the ability to relay information regarding copays, deductibles and coinsurance.

- Experience with Allscripts and eCW Practice management systems

Skills and Qualifications

- Preferably 2 to 3 years of experience with working knowledge of all aspects of the insurance processes, CPT and diagnostic codes.

- Strong understanding of payer requirements and medical billing guidelines.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Must be friendly and professional with excellent communication skills.

- Outstanding problem solving and organizational abilities

- Must be able to multi task and research oriented

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
