Position Purpose:

Greets patients registering for admission to the Hospital. Identifies self and briefly explains admissions of inpatients, outpatients, and Emergency Room patients. Ensures that accurate patient information is collected. Responsible for day-to day activities of scheduling registration of patients for hospital services.

Position Duties- Not all Inclusive

• Admits patients in a timely manner.
• Checks for accuracy of information for each patient admitted.
• Obtains proper identification for each patient admitted.
• Schedules test or procedures for patients as indicated on order.
• Keys all applicable credit notes.
• Assigns patients to a hospital room based upon notification from House Supervisor.
• Gathers personal information including emergency notification numbers and accurate insurance information.
• Assist all patients in understanding his/her benefits if information is available.
• Inputs patient information accurately and timely into the hospital information system.
• Prepares patient identification arm bands and places band on patient.
• Obtains necessary signatures of consent for treatment and insurance forms.
• Arranges for an escort of patients to their rooms when applicable.
• Collects monies on accounts at the time of service and collects deductibles and co-insurance.

• Ability to Read, Write, and Communicate Effectively in English required.
• Ability to interpret physician orders, resolve problems and provide quick reaction or immediate response in required situations required.
• Ability to prepare reports of daily activities as required.
• Clerical/PC Administrative Skills required.
• Attention to accurate detail and retention of information required.
• Previous hospital registration experience preferred
