Position: Senior Project Engineer - Transportation

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Project Engineer - Transportation to grow with us with a background in the design of Transportation and Complete Streets projects. The Engineer should have 5 or more years’ experience in roadway design and advanced Civil3D capabilities. Applicants must be motivated with a desire for both personal growth and advancement as well as firm growth, capable of multi-tasking in a variety of projects, and work well in a collaborative team atmosphere.

Responsibilities of Senior Project Engineer - Transportation:

• Oversee the preparation of Transportation/roadway design projects involving multi-modal accommodations (Complete Streets) including corridor and intersection improvements
• Mentor junior staff and provide training for complex Civil3D tasks
• Assist Project Managers with maintaining project budgets and schedules and project advancement
• Lead the preparation of construction bid documents including specifications and construction estimates
• Assist in the preparation of project scopes and budgets for new work and track budgets on existing projects
• Maintain communication with clients including municipalities, MassDOT and regional agencies
• Create and/or participate in presentations for project-related meetings or technical concerns

Requirements of Senior Project Engineer:

Education: B.S. Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering

Software: must have advanced AutoCAD and Civil3D capabilities including 3D surfaces

Experience: 5 or more years of Transportation design (Civil3D) experience of roadways and intersections preferred

Knowledge of MassDOT standards and submission process

Registrations: Preference will be made for individuals who have a Professional Engineer (PE) registration

Work Ethic: must be motivated with a desire for both personal growth and firm growth, and capable of multi-tasking on a variety of projects

Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability to work well in a collaborative team environment. Desire to manage and mentor junior staff, provide training if required, and communicate with clients, staff, subconsultants, and contractors. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
