The Group:
Custom Silicon Power (CSP) team is primarily focused on PMIC and hybrid mixed-signal/power developments, for High-End/High-Volume electronic devices, such as Smartphones, Tablets and Consumer Accessories. The CSS Power Team is expanding its focus in Power Solutions, across a broad range of IC engineering profiles and levels of experience, including Analog Designer, Digital Designer, Mixed-Signal Designer, Verification Engineer, Validation Engineer and Layout Designer.
The Position:
The CSP group is currently seeking a Design Evaluation Engineer to work on the development of the measurement solution and the evaluation of new products from the fields described above.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Design, Applications and Test teams to conduct the evaluation of the assigned products and, also, on the development of new measurement solutions and methodologies to guarantee the required accuracy to ensure compliance with the product specification and to minimize the measurement time.
The selected candidate needs to be self-motivated, willing to learn exciting new technologies and develop new products, but also be able to work effectively within a talented group of individuals across multiple development locations. The candidate will be involved in the following developments:
- LDO, BUCK, BOOST, BUCK-BOOST, CHARGE-PUMP, SIMO (Single-Input / Multiple Outputs)
- IBB (Inverted BUCK-BOOST), ICP (Inverted CHARGE-PUMP), ILDO (Inverted LDO)
- Power Sequencer, Oscillators, PLL, Bandgap, References, ADC, DAC, I/O, SPI, I2C, SPMI, OTP, MTP, RAM, ROM, DFT
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Design, Design Evaluation, Applications and Test teams to determine the required tests for the evaluation of new products.
- Develop the hardware and software evaluation capability for new products as part of the wider Design Evaluation team.
- Conduct pre-determined testing on new silicon, do post-processing and careful analysis of the results, and compile reports for each test.
- Identify functional and performance limitations of silicon down to root cause.
- Develop new measurement solutions and methodologies to place the team a step forward in terms of measurement capabilities.
- Coordinate and lead the Design Evaluation team, including reporting measurement results to customers, when assigned to that role on given projects.
The Candidate:
The candidate should have a strong knowledge of Analogue and Digital Electronics, be proactive, self-motivated, capable of accepting responsibility, and show initiative in identifying and solving challenging technical problems. The ideal candidate should have:
- 5-10 years’ experience in an Engineering measurement role.
- Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
- String technical and analytical background with good problem-solving skills
- Strong Python (or similar) programming skills.
- Strong teamwork, inter-personal and communication skills.
- High coordination and leadership skills.
- PCB design/layout experience.
- Experience on the evaluation of Power products will be valued.
